Red Cross
You can donate in a number of ways.
1) Text “HAITI” to “90999″ and $10 will be given automatically to the Red Cross, charged to your cell phone bill. (www.state.gov)
2) Go online to www.redcross.org and click Donate, or call (800) REDCROSS.
YELE (Wyclef Jean organization)
Text “Yele” to 501501 and make a $5 contribution to the relief effort over cell phone
Islamic Relief
Has launched a $1 million appeal to help the victims. Please donate at http://www.islamicreliefusa.org/emergencies/haiti-earthquake.
Save the Children
Focusing on children and families and taking truly grass roots actions like sending out motorbike teams to help people in the capital. Distributing stocks of high-protein biscuits that it already had in warehouses in Haiti. Donate at www.care.org.
